Yesterday I happened to browse through some of the stuffed shelves of Belgrade’s American corner, and I found this beauty lying right in front of me: “The elements of photography”, by Angela Faris Belt. At last someone who was able to show me some clarity or at least an interesting starting point in today’s photographical maze.
After some research, I found out that some other bloggers disagree, but I see no harm in concentrating on the 4 interconnected features, even only for a little while:
- Frame and borders
- Focus (lens aperture)
- Shutter speed (time and motion)
- Physical media
Anyway, she suggests some interesting exercices, for example to explore the use of borders. I have to admit that I almost forgot about its impact on a picture. So here they are, some first humble attempts…
